E-mail Settings - Outlook Express (Dial Up Using 'Other' ISP)

These notes should be read in conjunction with details of e-mail accounts provided by Local Telecom Service Limited. The recognised contact for each customer will either have these details or will know how to access them. To use the new e-mail accounts provided by Local Telecom Service with Outlook Express, proceed as follows:- 1. Click on Tools > Accounts 2. Click on the 'Mail' Tab (if not already selected) 3. Click on Add > Mail 4. Enter the name you wish to be displayed in the 'From' line of e-mails you send and click on Next 5. Enter your e-mail address and click on Next 6. In the 'Incoming Mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server' box, enter the pop3 server name as specified in the account details 7. In the 'Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server box, enter (see note 1) then click on Next. N.B. The information required for the next 2 steps is provided in the account details. (note 1 - You will need to enter the outgoing mail server details for the ISP you are using to connect to the internet) 8. In the 'Account name' box, enter the Account Name exactly as printed on the sheet 9. In the 'Password' box, enter the Password exactly as printed on the sheet then click on Next 10. Click on Finish You will find that your account has been given the name entered at Step 6. This name is for information only and does not affect the operation of your e-mail. In order to give this account a more recognisable name, proceed as follows:- 1. Highlight the account name and click on Properties 2. Replace the existing name with your chosen name then click Apply and OK 3. Click on Close to complete the process |
